RAIL SERVICE
NEW JERSEY TRANSIT (800) 772-2222
Buses and trains will run on regular schedules. Bikes allowed only during off-peak hours, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
PATH TRAINS (800) 234-7284
In addition to regular service, PATH will run trains between World Trade Center and 33rd St. stations, with a stop at Pavonia/Newport in New Jersey.
METRO-NORTH (212) 532-4900
Contingency plans may take up to 24 hours after strike begins. Bronx stations will be bypassed by regular service on the Harlem line. Shuttle trains will run between Grand Central Terminal and stations in the Bronx except Melrose and Tremont at peak hours. A temporary station will be set up at Yankee Stadium with shuttle service to Grand Central.
Tickets for travel within New York City will cost $4 and must be purchased before boarding during peak hours; surcharges apply at off-peak times.
LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD (718) 217-LIRR
Contingency plans may take up to 24 hours after strike begins. Many Queens stations will be bypassed by regular service during rush hours. Additional service will be available at hub stations: Queens Village, Valley Stream, Laurelton, Great Neck, Bayside. Shuttle trains will run between Jamaica, and Penn Station, stopping at Kew Gardens, Forest Hills and Woodside.
