With almost 40 years of experience in the corporate, airport and group transportation business, USA Bus Charter is seeing for the first time in our history of there being more demand for group transportation than the current U.S. supply of buses can accommodate. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of motor coach companies closed their doors. This resulted in thousands of buses throughout the U.S. being taken off the road and not becoming available for charter.
These companies who closed either on a temporary or permanent basis also lost thousands of professional motor coach operators (drivers). These driver's were forced to take employment in other industries. Many moved in the trucking sector as well as other industries. As the U.S. began to re-open in 2021 and groups were able to assemble and travel, the supply of buses available as well as the shortage of drivers simply is not enough to meet the demands our industry is facing. Companies who were able to continue in business are attempting to expand operations by adding more buses and training new drivers but with uncertainty as to where we will be in terms of COVID-19 mandates 3 months or 6 months from now, operators are skeptical. USA Bus Charter has a vast network, one of the largest in the U.S. of qualified, licensed and insured operators from coast to coast. We are working hard each day to expand that network by adding new operators to service our clients throughout the U.S. We are encouraging all clients to please reserve their group transportation as early as possible to avoid not having a bus for their transportation or paying more for their bus as market conditions change.
